Rosanne Fitzgerald is a Toronto-based Workplace Consultant and ADR Instructor with the Stitt Feld Handy Group. In addition to facilitating workshops on Alternative Dispute Resolution, Negotiation, and Dealing with Difficult People, Rosanne works with organizations to provide workplace restoration consultations.
Rosanne has spent many years working in the areas of Organizational Effectiveness and Strategic Human Resources, providing expertise to a variety of client groups within one of the largest Canadian federal government departments. Rosanne’s primary focus in this role was to undertake organizational assessment and diagnostic activities to assist clients to manage their workplace challenges more effectively, adjust to various transitions and to bring about positive change.
In addition to working as an internal consultant, she designed and delivered workshops in Leadership Development, Change Management, Performance Management and other topics. She also developed and facilitated Train the Trainer workshops to consultants and managers.
Prior to joining the public service, Rosanne taught Management Studies courses in Ontario as a Professor at the post-secondary level. These courses included Principles of Management, Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, Organizational Development and others. She also coordinated a Career Centre, providing employment preparation advice and advocacy for a student body of over 2,000 post-secondary students.
Rosanne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Education degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. The focus of her graduate studies was on Adult Education, with a specialization in Workplace Learning and Change. At the 4th International Conference on Transformative Learning in 2001, she presented a paper entitled “The Sustainability of the Learning Organization”.
Rosanne has completed the ADR, Advanced ADR and the Dealing With Difficult People Workshops conducted by the Stitt Feld Handy Group and the University of Windsor Law School. She is also a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario. Rosanne undertook the Foundations of Professional Coaching program with the Adler Institute and was a National Trainer in the Coaching Practices for Managers program as part of the federal government’s National Managers Community coaching program. In addition, Rosanne has received qualifications to administer the Insights Discovery program and the Change Style Indicator.
In her spare time, Rosanne is an active volunteer with the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.
