Peter Dreyer
Peter D. Dreyer is a Toronto-based mediator, negotiator, trainer, investigator, and Senior Associate with the Stitt Feld Handy Group. He is also the firm’s lead facilitator in the Caribbean. He has facilitated ADR training in both the private and public sectors in Canada, the Caribbean, England, Australia and the United States. In Trinidad and Tobago, Peter has designed and delivered dispute resolution programmes for many government ministries and private corporations. These include the Ministries of the Attorney General, Legal Affairs, Health, Public Administration, Science, Technology and Tertiary Education, Local Government, National Security and the Office of the Prime Minister as well as Scotiabank, Neal and Massy Holdings Ltd., Petrotrin and Atlantic LNG.
Peter has received international Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) training from Queen’s University, University of Windsor Law School, York University and CDR Associates, Colorado. He received his B.A. and B. Ed. from Memorial University of Newfoundland. His professional background includes years of senior administrative management and teaching experience. As well, he was president of the mediation firm, Just Alternatives.
Peter has held directorships with a number of provincial associations and is a member and past director of the ADR Institute of Ontario, a member of both the Ontario Bar Association (ADR Section) and the ADR Institute of Canada, and a founding member of the Upper Canada Dispute Resolution Association.
As a Chartered Mediator (ADR Institute of Canada designation), Peter mediates two-party and multi-party disputes in a variety of contexts including civil, commercial, employment, workplace, personal injury and breach of contract claims. He is a Roster Mediator with the Ontario Mandatory Mediation Program, Toronto and a Certified Mediator in Trinidad (Mediation Board of Trinidad and Tobago) for civil non-family matters in Trinidad.
In his “spare time”, Peter is active in the study of Canadian history. He is co-author of “Discovering Canada”, a series of texts that have been used in high schools across Canada.
Discounts
A 20% discount will apply if 5 or more people register from the same organization, during the same calendar year.
A $150 discount applies if you register for both the ADR and Advanced ADR Workshops at the same time.
Cancellation Policy
A fee of 50% of the course fee will be charged for cancellations made up to two weeks before the scheduled date for the workshop. The full fee will be charged for cancellations made in the two week period prior to the start of the workshop. A delegate substitution is welcome for the workshop.
For ADR, Advanced ADR, Become a Powerful Negotiator and Dealing with Difficult People workshops an administrative fee of $250 will be charged for a change in workshop dates, if the change is made in the 8 weeks before the workshop.
For the Applied ADR workshop the change of workshop date fee is $500, if the change is made in the 8 weeks before the workshop.
